Sasha Rudenstine, Ph.D.

Sasha Rudenstine is assistant professor of psychology in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at City College of New York. She teaches Life Course Development, Adolescent Counseling, Psychometrics, and Dissertation Practicum, supervises graduate students, runs the three treatment teams at The Psychological Center (DBT, RISE, and TAAP), and leads the INTERSECT Lab at CCNY.

Dr. Rudenstine is the founder of the INTERSECT Lab, joining her public health/epidemiological experience and clinical psychology. She is the Principal Investigator for three projects run by the INTERSECT LAB: Psychotherapy Evaluation and Clinical Effectiveness (PEACE) Program, Child Health and Psychotherapy (CHAP) Program, and Therapeutic Alliance Assessment Project (TAAP). Together these programs aim to identify correlates of health among an urban, low SES population. In addition, they work to identify particular mental health interventions that are effective mechanisms of change and for whom they are most successful.

Dr. Rudenstine is the Associate Editor of the Integrative Therapist produced by the Society for the Exploration of Integrative Psychotherapy.

Steve Tuber, Ph.D.
CHAP Co - P.I.

Steve Tuber is the Director of Clinical Training, Program Head and Professor of Psychology in the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at City College. His research focuses on the assessment of representations of self and other, and the affects and defense mechanisms stimulated by such representations in children, adolescents and adults; the links between such assessments and the adaptive use of psychotherapy in clinical populations; the utility of projective methods, most especially the Rorschach Inkblot Method and the Thematic Apperception Test, to studies of psychotherapy outcome. Dr. Tuber oversees the projective assessments given as part of the CHAP Program.

Elliot Jurist, Ph.D.

Elliot Jurist is professor of psychology and philosophy at CCNY. Dr. Jurist's research has focused on the role of emotions in psychotherapy.  His research team has created a new measure of emotion regulation, Mentalized Affectivity Scale (MAS), which is a part of the PEACE Program protocol.  He maintains interests in all areas of the study of emotions as well as in addictions and ethics. Dr. Jurist runs supervision groups that introduce mentalizing techniques used by mental health professionals to use.

Sarah O’Neill, Ph.D.

Sarah O’Neill runs the Attention and Neuropsychological Development (ATT&ND) Lab at CCNY. The ATT&ND Lab studies the neuropsychological and psychosocial factors that increase risk for, and moderate the trajectory of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across the lifespan. Her collaborative work with Dr. Rudenstine seeks to identify factors that mediate the relationship between ADHD and psychological impairment among an urban population.

Diana Puñales, Ph.D.

Diana Puñales is the current director of The Psychological Center which serves as the training clinic for the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program at The City College of New York (CCNY) and also serves on the Leadership Team of the doctoral program. Dr. Puñales runs two clinical teams composed of doctoral students where patient treatment is reviewed on a weekly basis. Her areas of research include: immigration and Latino psychology, domestic violence, childhood trauma and abuse, health psychology and acculturative stress.
